Previously, the entrapment safety devices for gates were limited to the old
industry standards:
Loops:
Require cutting into the roadway or placement prior to asphault or
concrete being poured.
Are not effective as people or animal safeties as they only detect
ferrous metal.
Are not effective with some aluminum framed vehicles.
If used as a safety inside the swing of the gate, they must be disabled
when the gate begins to move, creating a void in the safeties where someone
could be injured.
Infrared Beams:
Require wiring to be ran to each individual transmitter.
Can be bypassed by very reflective sufaces (silver car, polished
windows...)
If used at the end of the gate leafs, seperate posts are required,
giving a busy look to the opening.
As with loops, if they are used inside the swing of the gate, they must
be disabled when the gate moves.
Key Benefits of Diffused LASAR Safeties
Will function with ANY material, ferrous or non-ferrous, reflective or
non-reflective, vehicle or person.
Mounted to the gate, so they travel with the gate eliminating voids in
the safeties.
No additional posts or wiring results in a much cleaner looking entryway
